Children’s Grief Awareness Symposium

Please join us for a unique and exciting educational event that will help to build your capacity to support grieving children, youth and families in the communities you serve.

The Canadian Alliance for Grieving Children & Youth (CAGCY) along with three hosting organizations (Lighthouse for Grieving Children, Lumara Grief & Bereavement Care Society, and Seasons Centre for Grieving Children) are pleased to introduce you to the Canadian Children’s Grief Symposium – Canada’s first virtual conference designed specifically for those who support grieving children and youth.

Workshops will be delivered by experienced grief practitioners and educators from regions all across Canada. The Symposium will provide learning and networking opportunities for those who work with children and youth in a variety of sectors including health care, education, social services and more. Interactive sessions will cover a wide range of topics including foundational children’s grief concepts, advanced practice ideas, emerging research and innovative program ideas and tools. There will be multiple opportunities for participants to connect and engage with one another and with the presenters. Volunteers and students are especially encouraged to attend.

Agenda Customization

After you register for the Canadian Children’s Grief Symposium you can begin customizing your personal agenda which will feature all the sessions you plan to attend. This can be done from this page on our website or through the Whova App, where there are multiple opportunities to interact with other registrants before, during and after the event.

If you are not located in the province of British Columbia, you can view the agenda in your local time zone by going to the banner located at the top of the agenda and switching the view option to your “local time” – this feature is not visible in British Columbia.

To achieve an optimal viewing experience  from your tablet/mobile device we recommend downloading the app. For those using the desktop app from a home computer or laptop, be sure to only RSVP to one event for each time period. Afterwards, review your selections in the section that says, “My Agenda”.
