Lumara has an amazing team of counsellors and therapists with years of specialized knowledge and experience in helping people who are coping with serious illness, grief and bereavement. In-person sessions are offered at our BC program offices in Parksville and New Westminster. Virtual sessions are available across Canada.

Grief affects every part of life, and finding steady, compassionate support can make a meaningful difference. Lumara’s counselling services are designed to meet you where you are, offering a space to talk openly, process your experiences, and explore tools that can help you navigate the many emotions that accompany loss, serious illness, and major life transitions. Our counsellors bring deep expertise and a grounded, heart-centred approach to this work.

In order to sustain our professional services and programs for children, youth and families, we request that all participants make some level of program fee contribution. Our individual and family counselling rates are set in accordance with the recommended fee guidelines put forth by Canadian Associations of Clinical Counsellors ($140/hour). Many Extended Health Care Plans cover the fees of our Registered Clinical Counsellors.

For those in need of financial assistance, we are more than happy to talk with you about making a contribution that fits within your comfort level. This simply involves a short, confidential phone call to our office to discuss your concerns with our Program Coordinator. You can be assured that no individual or family is ever turned away from this organization due to an inability to pay.
