After two years of virtual runs, the day has finally come where we can once again unite as a team and run or walk together in person at this year’s 2022 Vancouver Half Marathon & Charity Challenge (formerly the Scotiabank Half Marathon & Charity Challenge).
Getting active is an important way to maintain our overall health, both physically and mentally. That’s why I am thrilled to again host the event as your Lumara Society Team Captain as we look to achieve our 2022 fitness and $20,000 fundraising goals.
3 WAYS TO PARTICIPATE
Be a part of the team working towards our individual running goals and our team fundraising goal of $20,000. Choose from a half-marathon, 10k, 5k or kids event – or whatever distance you wish to challenge yourself with.
For those running virtually or in person, I’ll put together a WhatsApp group for us to cheer each other on, share some positivity and photos of our success.
For those that want to unite as a team in person, connect with me and the entire Lumara running team June 26th at the start line. We will all be there to support each other rain or shine on race day.
Virtual + In-Person (Threepeat):
Complete your virtual 5K and 10K from May 26 – June 26, and then run your half marathon with us in person on Sunday, June 26th.
Donate to support the team:
If you are unable to participate, but still wish to support the team, we would greatly appreciate a donation as we work towards reaching our fundraising goal of $20,000.
In the past this event has helped Lumara raise a considerable amount of money that plays a vital role in the organization’s operations. It’s been a difficult few years and as Canadians face grief, loss, anxiety and other mental health challenges, Lumara’s support services will be more important than ever. This is why I hope you’ll join me in running and fundraising for those who are grieving.
