Camp Kerry Family Bereavement Retreats
Camp Kerry retreats began in British Columbia in 2007 and were the first of their kind in Canada. They are specially designed with a family-centred focus to meet the varied needs of parents, grandparents, children and youth who are grieving the death of a loved one. These four-day retreats offer a unique opportunity for families to relax and be together in beautiful natural settings where they can build positive new memories. The intention of these programs are to provide bereaved families with an experience of a compassionate community where they can meet others in similar circumstances, decrease their sense of isolation and foster a renewed sense of strength, hope and connection.

Our retreats vary in size and happen at different times and in different locations across Canada (currently offered in British Columbia, Ontario and New Brunswick). Although every retreat has a different feel and reflects the unique geography and culture of the region where it takes place, the principles of care and the program philosophy and structure are consistent across settings. Qualified counsellors and specially trained volunteers provide a variety of therapeutic and recreational experiences including: Group Sharing Circles, Music & Art Therapy, Nature Hikes, Adventure Challenges, Swimming, Fishing & Boating, Sports & Games, Yoga & Relaxation, Campfires and a Candlelight Memory Service.
