The Place To Be

A positive buzz has emanated across the lower mainland of British Columbia and beyond since our Community Open House this past weekend. The feedback from attendees has been uplifting and definitely rewarding for our small team to receive for we are all highly motivated to do it again. We wish to express our appreciation and gratitude to all those who came and those of you who have conveyed wonderful communications in support of this event. From all of the messages we’ve received it is quite evident that most of those who couldn’t attend wished they had, and many of those who did not are strongly considering the Camp Kerry Community Open House as the main event to be at next year.

For us here at the Camp Kerry Society there is an enhanced sense of pride about the work we do and an even larger sense of unity that echoes around our glowing community. We are all elated to have had the opportunity to recognize and celebrate some our alumni, volunteers, supporters and new comers all in one arena, and we realize that it was something that was certainly long overdue.

Well over a hundred people from all regions of the lower mainland in British Columbia came together at the beautiful VanCity Theatre and a simplified way to explain the experience would be to say that it was incredible! As guests of all ages entered the venue they were greeted by some of our exceptional peeps where some were issued a personal copy of the latest Camp Kerry DVD. The lobby was dotted with glorious displays which included a pop-up store from Kerry’s Boutique, swag and a cool representative from our partners at Change Day BC, and last but not least, one of our Team Captains, Christian Taylor, who hosted a registration table for our team who will be participating in this years Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

After several opportunities to mingle, shop, and make new friends, our guests were then escorted into their luxurious seats where we then honored and recognized some of our marvelous supporters from the past year. Some of those to receive awards included;

The finale of the afternoon was of course the viewing of our latest Camp Kerry movie. Reviews appear to be excellent so far, and plans are already in the works to create an even more spectacular show for our next season. If you are an alumni from Camp Kerry BC (volunteer/participant) and you still have not received your copy of the movie please contact us to make arrangements.
